Below is perhaps my absolute FAVORITE go-to meal. And, truly, a dinner ritual for keeps.
Spaghetti is a staple in most households, but in many, it's just a so-so meal. Ergo, Maple Sausage Spaghetti. It elevates a traditional meal and transforms it with a punch of flavor that only creates one result: Everyone will be asking for more (including the pickiest eater). It's kid-friendly AND sophisticated enough to serve at a dinner party. (And a helpful hint for those holiday crowds: the Maple Sausage will transform your lasagna recipes too. Game. Changer.)
The other beautiful reason I love this recipe is because I can pull it out of my back pocket and have dinner ready in 15 minutes any day of the week. I always keep noodles and extra jars of sauce ready to go at a moment's notice--so that when my original plan does not work out for some unforeseen reason, Maple Sausage Spaghetti swoops in to save the day. (Even if I did not pre-thaw my meat--I run it under warm water for 5 minutes or so and we're ready to go.) Not to mention I know I'm feeding my crowd healthy, sustainably raised meat and it's one more way to be a part of the beautiful symbiotic process of making our world a little better.
Here are a few notes that I believe are imperative to making this recipe a true success: First of all, I cannot stress using Angel Hair Pasta (or thin spaghetti) enough. Perhaps it's just my personal preference, but I believe the dainty noodles make this meal even more elegant and delicious--there's something about the extra thin pasta that just makes the flavor profiles stand out even more. Secondly, shaved/grated Parmesan on top is really the best finishing touch and draws out the flavors even more. And can you ever really go wrong with cheese?! (But please note, if you cannot eat dairy or are not a cheese lover, the spaghetti will not leave you wanting without it.)
